Apollo - The equipment would never work

Nothing designed by NASA would actually work in space or on the moon. That was true of all their designs from before Apollo to the present day.

The sun's direct unshielded radiation in space would cause the temperature of any object to rise quickly to 250 degrees F. while the temperature of any object in a shadow would lose heat down to minus 300 degrees F. NASA never mentions this in their design of spacecraft, space suits or other objects simply because nothing they design could cope with the brutal nature of radiation nor would it need to.

The Lunar Excursion Module was never tested on earth. Like everything designed for Apollo, NASA knew it did not actually have to work.

Nothing about design of the Apollo LEM, spacesuits or other objects would work in the brutal reality of the vacuum of space. Only a couple of tests were made in low vacuum conditions with near fatal results.

Spacesuit designs did not have to actually work, so NASA just made stuff up.

Zippers were sewn into the Apollo suits for practical purposes on earth. NASA claimed they were proof against the vacuum opf space. Sure they were.
